Clan Rules for Recruits

General Clan Rules

1. RECRUITING
Recruiting is an ongoing process as hk continues to grow and evolve. If leaders are the root of the team, new recruits are its life-blood. The following rules apply:

* Recruits must remain in recruit status for two weeks minimum up to a maximum of six weeks.
* Recruits MUST pass a unanimous vote to be accepted into hk. If they are not voted in, they must go another two weeks before a vote. After three votes, if the player is not voted in, their recruit status will be revoked.
* Recruits may play in matches, but even in those situations there is a maximum of 1 recruit per match unless more players are needed to fill positions.
* Players will never be recruited as a package deal. Each recruit must prove his own worth.
* hk is composed of MATURE gamers. As a result the normal practice is to recruit those who are 16 years of age or more, however being over 18 is also a plus. Recruiting under this age limit will be a rarity and the recruit must exhibit an exceptionally mature attitude.

If your interested in recruitment, please read this thread.

2. TEAMSPEAK
All members should join the Teamspeak server when gaming. The value of this cannot be denied. Sharing strategies and observations in real time is invaluable when developing skills as a unit. Please ensure you use a QUALITY headset. No one want to hear your family yelling at you in the background during matches, nor do we wish to be subjected to noise fatigue because Best-Buy had a sale on no-name headsets. Plantronics headsets are highly recommended. The Teamspeak application can be downloaded at http://www.goteamspeak.com . After you install the client you can use the following link to connect to our server: [bblink]teamspeak://ts2.hellskatzsquad.com:8767/[/bblink] - alternatively, you can use the IP - 207.58.181.6:8767 - to connect.

3. FORUMS
It is a team requirement that all members have a forum account. This allows for communication for server information, strategies, attendance and other clan related issues and discussions. New members (i.e. recruits) will not have full access to the hk's private forum until such as time they become a full member, but are expected to have a forum account immediately upon admittance as a recruit. Any information needed by a recruit will be provided by a member of hk. It is expected that all members check and post on the forums regularly to ensure proper communication between all team members.

4. XFIRE
All members should download and install the Xfire instant messaging software. This instant messenger is used by hk because it is a solid utility for gamers to organize ad hoc games together, it works well, and is free. Xfire can be downloaded at http://www.xfire.com . Be sure to post in the forums what your ID is so everyone can add you to their list. After you install the client you can use the following link to add our server to your favorites: [bblink]xfire:add_server?game=bf2&server=bf2east.hellskatzsquad.com:16567[/bblink]

5. BE ACTIVE
hk has been active in multiple games and there is no doubt this trend will continue. As a result members are required to purchase new games as the team migrates to new titles. Each member must own and participate regularly in team activities for the game they own. If a member decides not to purchase the next title hk will be competing in, and hk discontinues competing in the game currently played, the member will be removed from the active team roster until such time as they obtain a game which hk is currently competing in. There is no room in hk for drift wood! The excuse that your mom/significant other cut your allowance will not be tolerated and you will find your access and privileges revoked.

Additionally, hk is a player run team. As such, members are required to perform administrative tasks, participate in team meetings, and generally be ready and willing to help when help is required. In hk, one must earn respect regardless of one's "in game" skill level.

6. BE A TEAM PLAYER
Any members, new or old, who show signs of disrespect towards other members, immaturity, or a general bad attitude, will be removed from the team. ALL leaders of hk have the power to remove a member from the team summarily without consultation. This rule ensures that bad members are dealt with as soon as possible before any major disruption to the team's dynamic can occur. hk is a team of tolerance and mutual respect, but hk will not stand for idiotic behavior at the expense of the team's performance. Abuse of power by a leader in this regard will result in the loss of the individual's leadership role or removal from the team in the same manner as described above. Generally, members will be advised of their inappropriate behavior privately and given an opportunity to amend their ways. However in certain cases immediate dismissal is a distinct possibility.

7. CALENDAR & ROSTER
At this time, we're not requiring the use of the calendar as long as activity is not a problem. However, we are going to be reinforcing the use of the calendar for Quake Wars. You ARE REQUIRED to post in No Show if you cannot make it, however, instead of being required to use the calendar.

Any member may be replaced at any time before, and even during a match. A member may start the first match and may sit out next match. This will depend upon a member's overall team participation and effort as a team player (IE attend practices, read and help formulate strategies, being as active as possible, etc). There should be no need for the roster to be read out loud at match time. This is the purpose of the forums. It is expected of all players attending to know their role and what their teammate's roles will be. There will be very little indication of roster and role call prior to a match short of any last minute roster changes. You should know the strategies and tactics used in the map from the practice and scrims prior to the actual match.

8. IRC
It is a team requirement for all members to idle in both #hellskatz and #hkpriv team channels as much as possible. Idling in IRC shows the community that our team is dedicated and is a great method of staying in touch. Most importantly, match information will be exchanged in these channels. If a leader is not around due to a disconnect etc, other members can get match info and rearrange rosters as needed to play the match. An IRC application, called mIRC, can be downloaded at http://www.mirc.com . After you install the client you can use the following link to connect to our server: [bblink]irc://irc.us.gamesurge.net/hellskatz[/bblink]
