I decided to make a post about this game and keep it updated for anyone interested.

Left 4 Dead

Release Date: 18th of November 2008 in the USA
Type of Game: Zombie (called infected) Survival Horror FPS Co-op
Who Making it?: Valve South (formally turtle rock)
What Engine?: Source
What Makes This Special?: 1.The AI Director, its an ai system that proceduraly places enemies according to how your're playing. Which means that the infected are never in the same place twice.
2. The Post Processing, its dynamic and depends on the state of your health, your team, the situation, etc.
3. Self-shadowed light mapping, (im just gonna quote sombody else) “In self-shadowed normal mapping, instead of doing all your light calculations on strictly flat polygons, you have a texture map that contains normal information mapped to those polygons, and locally, you’re changing the lighting.” it basicly means its gonna look really good
4. Valve plans to constantly update it, more than TF2
What Type Of Gametypes Does L4D Have?: So far it has the original Co-op story mode and a Versus mode that is more focused on Humans Vs. Boss infected. While theres only 2 modes right now it seems that valve south is planning on releasing more either before or after the release date.
Boss Infected! What?!?: Yes there will be boss infected, These are larger and stronger infected than the regular run-in-the-mill horde type. They include a Boomer, which can vomit (the vomit will attract zombies) and explode when you shoot him; a Hunter who is fast, agile, and can pounce on a survivor; a Smoker, who can strangle survivors with its long tongue and drag them away from their teammates, it can also produce smoke to blur the survivors vision; the Tanker, a huge muscular infected who can smash and throw survivors and can lift and throw large objects like cars and concrete; and then theres the witch, the only non-playable boss infected, They are normally passive and can be avoided by careful players, but flashlight beams, physical contact, and gunfire in their vicinity rouses them. Witches can strike a Survivor down in one hit and can take a large amount of damage.
Holy shit im excited now! Will there be a demo?: Yes! there will! Although a date for the demo has not been set, valve confirms that it will be before the release date.
What will the servers be like?: They will be 16 man servers, 4 slots for the survivors, 4 for the infected bosses, and 4 for spectators.

Well thats all the info I can think of right now, if i forgot somthing feel free to post it.

I should have pre-ordered this for $36.99 from Amazon when I had the chance. I thought the game would MSRP at $39.99 and be 10% discounted on Steam to $36. But it MSRP'd at $49.99 and Amazon bumped its price up to match Steam's $45. And there's no word of a pre-order beta like TF2. I'll still be getting it, but meh.

12am is called midnight; 12pm is called noon or lunch time. Easy to remember.

Why military time is better. :)
00:00 = Midnight
12:00 = NOON

No confusion.
