Hey, zer0tolerance.

I can run QW fine on a 256MB Geforce Go 7900 GS at medium settings in 1440x900.  At max settings, I get mouse lag inside the sewers.  Unless you like to run your games with max detail and 4x AA, I don't see the need to upgrade the 7900gtx.  The only reasonable upgrade paths available right now are the 8800s or the 2900s, which are $280+.

Spose I'll just tack onto this.

Anyone else running an ATi card and having alot of problems? I run a fairly tuned (core and ram slightly OC'ed) 1900XT. It runs pretty well for the way I normally play, which is at 1600x1200 with everything (r_ commands included) turned to bare minimum.

The trouble comes when I'm trying to Fraps Demos (I like movie making). I turn the resolution down to about 800x600, and start trying to turn things up. I get an instant FPS crash, down to a bare unsteady 30FPS.

Anyone got any tips for ATi Cards besides buying an Nvidia card? Or is anyone running with the Omega Drivers instead of the Catalyst and not having any problems? I know there have been some complaints on the public beta forums, but its kinda hard to trust them people.
