Deleting old onboard audio drivers

Postby Sirpsycho on Sat Feb 17, 2007 7:48 pm

I deleted old my old chipset audio drivers because they were infearing with my SB Xfi drivers causing crackling and popping sounds.  That fixed the problem but now when I restart my computer it says found new hardware and want to reinstall the on board audio drivers, how do I make this stop wanting to reinstall everytime I reboot??????????

Let your system reinstall the driver for onboard audio. Then reboot, go into your bios and disable onboard sound. Problem solved.

Disable the onboard sound in the PC BIOS.
If for some reason you can't disable in BIOS then let the drivers install then disable the device in device manager.
