Athena's new computer, I gave her the Dell XPS 700 and got a new one - see next post - (of course this deal cost me some additional furniture, a new carpet, and a new fence). Never the less, here is a recap of the DELL XPS 700:

Now my new computer (Tom, this may force you to wait another two years to build your new computer )

Processor:              Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 (2.66GHz, 1066 FSB, 64-bit)
Motherboard:          Asus Striker Extreme nForce® 680i SLI
RAM:                      DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module Corsair XMS2 Xtreme w/Heat Spreader
Video Cards:            Dual NVIDIA GeForce 7950GT 512MB w/DVI - SLI
Hard Drive:              150GB Western Digital Raptor
2nd Hard Drive:        36GB Western Digital Raptor
Operating System:    Windows Vista™ Vista
Optical Drives:          18X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW
Sound Cards:          X-Fi ExtremeGamer
Case:                      NZXT Apollo Gaming Tower Case
Power Supply:          NZXT 1000 Watt Power Supply [Quad SLI Ready]

I did not run with the 8800 graphics card for reasons being that it is has quite a high price to not really take advantage of DX10 at this point. I would rather wait until the next set of cards comes out then replace the 7950GTs.

I will post my parts a later tonight - need to visit father inlaw in Utica today.
I will have you beat Hellstorm.  :Knife:
No water cooling?
Heh.

BTW the Raptors are 1.5 gbs not 3gbs.

Water cooling beating me? Doubtful. The processor runs cool as it is. All you need is good airflow. You can have your water cooling. Then again, I think you actually need to have a built and running computer to beat me...

Can you say "typo" Tom? Say it with me, "typo". Good boy. That was a cut and paste from Dell.

I will run my Quad at 3.2 after I burn it in.
I also have the 1150ghz OCZ watercooled memory and will be overclocking that to 1300.
Ahhh - watercooling and it will look cool too!

Things are coming together finally.
I have a few more parts to get before I do my bench build but closer.

We will have to post SiSandra specs after we are done. :)
Heheheh.

Here are the specs:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=189

Transfer Rates
Buffer To Host (Serial ATA) 1.5 Gb/s (Max)
Buffer To Disk 84 MB/s (Sustained)

Dell are noobs.
They probably typo'ed it as the 1.5gb/s  transfer speed looks bad on paper but real world test still show the raptor still has the edge.

The Dell has WD raptors. That is the bottom line. Who cares about the typo.

I have plenty of room for overclocking with the chip and motherboard - there is no difference between my setup and "your" setup. As for the water cooling, it may look cool, but why deal with the pain in the ass if some thing goes wrong? I pass on it simply because its a waste of money when the chips already run cool and I still got fancy lighting and stuff.

Admit you didn't know the raptors were at 1.5 gb/s.
We will see how fast you will be able to OC.
I smell smoke!

Um? My computer is sitting here, playing video games just fine. I'd be a bit more worried about your own before dishing out the harshness.
