Had to reoder my comp due to a video card configuration issue with QUAD SLI Dell couldnt resolve. But I got a 12% discount from work, an upgrade to the Core 2 Duo without any additional cost and a $200 gift certificate. I shall receive the system in September:

SLI just isnt the same as 4GB of Quad SLI goodness....stupid Dell, just tell them to ship it without vid cards, buy them yourself and build it yourself :)

1 GB of video RAM is still a whole helluva lot. Right now, NVidia drivers are not up to par yet. Even read something about SLI drivers are currently only available via OEM. But no worries, I will likely make it a Quad SLI at a later time since its the same motherboard. But go Core 2!

My guess is that they will release a version of Directx 10 software for the most current of graphics cards,. So I am not so much worried about that.

There is hardware, but that hardware will have software DLL's just like all the other Direct X 8 or 9 versions. DirectX 10  wont be backward compatible with DirectX 9.
